The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Ātmabodhaḥ

Verse 46

In plain words

A stump at dusk, and you see a man standing there — that is bhrānti, and nothing more. Being a separate someone is laid over Brahman in exactly that way. See the jīva's real nature, actually see it, and the separateness turns back and goes.

Close to the Sanskrit

As a man in a post, by delusion, so individuality is made in Brahman; when that true nature of the jīva is seen, it ceases.
