The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Ātmabodhaḥ

Verse 47

In plain words

The knowledge born of actually experiencing what Reality is annuls, immediately, the ignorance that says 'I' and 'mine' — the way getting your bearings annuls the certainty that north was over there.

Close to the Sanskrit

The knowledge arisen from the direct experience of the essential nature of Reality at once annuls the ignorance of 'I' and 'mine', as in the case of directional confusion and the like.
