In plain words
'Yājñavalkya,' he said, 'this whole world is bound up entirely in the waxing and waning halves of the month — so what frees the sacrificer from that bond?' 'The Udgātṛ priest,' came the answer, 'who is Vāyu, who is breath. Breath itself is the true Udgātṛ of the sacrifice. This very breath is Vāyu, is the Udgātṛ, is release — that is the further release.'

'Yājñavalkya,' said [he] — 'this whole world which is pervaded by the waxing and waning fortnights, this whole world which has fallen entirely under the waxing and waning fortnights — by what does the sacrificer become released from the bond of the waxing and waning fortnights?' [He answered:] 'By the Udgātṛ-priest, by Vāyu, by breath. Breath indeed is the Udgātṛ of the sacrifice. So this breath here — he is Vāyu, he is the Udgātṛ, he is release; that is the further release.'
