In plain words
The one who lives inside light itself, yet is nothing light can claim as its own, whom light never knows, whose body light is, who governs it from within -- that is your self, the ruler seated inside everything, and death does not touch him. So much for the deities. Now for the beings.
Close to the Sanskrit
He who, dwelling in light, is other than light, whom light does not know, whose body light is, who controls light from within -- he is your self, the inner controller, immortal. Thus the teaching regarding the deities; now the teaching regarding created beings.
