स होवाच यदूर्ध्वं गार्गि दिवो यद-वाक्पृथिव्या यदन्तरा द्यावापृथिवी इमेयद्भूतं च भवच्च भविष्यच्चेत्याचक्षत आ-काशे तदोतं च प्रोतं चेति ॥ ४ ॥
In plain words
He said, 'Gārgī -- everything above the sky, everything below the earth, everything between them, everything anyone has ever called past, present, or future -- all of it is woven on space itself, thread crossing thread.'
Close to the Sanskrit
He said: 'Gārgī, that which is above heaven, that which is beneath the earth, that which is between these two, heaven and earth, that which they call the past, the present, and the future -- on space is that woven, crosswise and lengthwise.'
