Verse 174

स होवाच महिमान एवैषामेते त्रय-स्त्रिंशच्चैव देवा इति कतमे ते त्रयस्त्रि-ंशदित्यष्टौ वसव एकादश रुद्रा द्वाद-शादित्यास्त एकत्रिंशदिन्द्रश्चैव प्रजाप-तिश्च त्रयस्त्रिंशाविति ॥ २ ॥

In plain words

He answered, ‘Those huge numbers are just their glories — the real gods number only thirty-three.’ ‘And which thirty-three are those?’ ‘Eight Vasus, eleven Rudras, twelve Ādityas — that already makes thirty-one — and then Indra and Prajāpati complete the thirty-three.’

Close to the Sanskrit

He said: these are simply the glories of these [thirty-three], and the gods are only thirty-three. 'Which are those thirty-three?' — 'Eight Vasus, eleven Rudras, twelve Ādityas — these are thirty-one — and Indra and Prajāpati are the two [making] thirty-three.'
