लोका अलोका देवा अदेवा वेदा अवेदाः ।अत्र स्तेनोऽस्तेनो भवति भ्रूणहाऽभ्रूणहाचाण्डालोऽचाण्डालः पौल्कसोऽपौल्कसःश्रमणोऽश्रमणस्तापसोऽतापसोऽनन्वाग-तं पुण्येनानन्वागतं पापेन तीर्णो हितदा सर्वाञ्छोकान्हृदयस्य भवति ॥ २२ ॥

Worlds stop being worlds. Gods stop being gods. The Vedas stop being the Vedas. Here, a thief is no longer a thief, one who has killed an unborn child is no longer that killer, an outcaste is no longer an outcaste, the lowest of the low is no longer the lowest of the low, a wandering ascetic is no longer an ascetic, one bent on austerities is no longer bent on them. Nothing touches him now — not merit, not sin. Because by then he has crossed clean over every sorrow the heart can hold.
