The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Bṛhadāraṇyakopaniṣadbhāṣyam

Verse 295

यो ह वा आयतनं वेदायतनँ स्वानां भवत्यायतनं जनानां मनो वा आयतन- मायतनँ स्वानां भवत्यायतनं जनानां य एवं वेद ॥ ५ ॥

In plain words

Whoever truly knows what the abode is becomes, himself, the abode his own people rest in, and the abode other people rest in too. And that abode is the mind. Know this, and you become exactly that for your own people, and for everyone else besides.

Close to the Sanskrit

He who indeed knows the abode becomes the abode of his own people, the abode of [other] people; mind, verily, is the abode; he becomes the abode of his own people, the abode of [other] people, he who knows thus. [5]
