स ह प्रजापतिरीक्षांचक्रे हन्तास्मै प्र-तिष्ठां कल्पयानीति स स्त्रियं ससृजेताँ सृष्ट्वाध उपास्त तस्मात्स्त्रियमध उपा-सीत स एतं प्राञ्चं ग्रावाणमात्मन एवसमुदपारयत्तैनेनामभ्यसृजत् ॥ २ ॥

Prajāpati looked at what he had made and thought: come, let me give this being something to stand on. So he brought forth woman. Having made her, he came to her from below — and that is why, ever since, one comes to a woman from below. Then, out of his own body, he raised up this stone that presses forward, the way the pressing-stone presses the soma, and through it he poured himself into her.

He, Prajāpati, reflected: 'Come, let me fashion a support for him.' He created woman. Having created her, he approached her from below. Therefore one should approach a woman from below. He thrust forth, from his own self, this projecting pressing-stone; with that he emitted into her.
