स होवाच गार्ग्यो य एवायमादर्शे पु-रुष एतमेवाहं ब्रह्मोपास इति स होवा-चाजातशत्रुर्मा मैतस्मिन्संवदिष्ठा रोचि-ष्णुरिति वा अहमेतमुपास इति स यएतमेवमुपास्ते रोचिष्णुर्ह भवति रोचि-ष्णुर्हास्य प्रजा भवत्यथो यैः संनिगच्छ-ति सर्वांस्तांनतिरोचते ॥ ९ ॥
In plain words
Gārgya said, "The person we see in a mirror—that is the Brahman I worship." Ajātaśatru answered, "Do not speak to me of him. I worship him as the radiant one." Whoever meditates on him thus becomes radiant himself, and his children become radiant. Among all those he meets, he outshines them every one.

He said, Gargya: 'This person who is in the mirror, him indeed I worship as Brahman.' He said to him, Ajatashatru: 'Do not converse with me about this. As the radiant one, indeed, I worship this.' He who worships him thus becomes radiant; his progeny becomes radiant; moreover, whomsoever he encounters, he shines beyond them all.
