Whoever knows the child this way — bound to its base, its second seat, its post, and its cord — keeps seven hostile rivals at bay. And this child is nothing other than the breath moving through the middle of the body. Its base is the body itself; its second seat is the head; the breath is the very post it stands against, and food is the rope that ties the whole of it together.
