विदग्धः शाकल्यः-हृदयं वै ब्रह्मेति ।हृदयं वै, सम्राट्, सर्वेषां भूतानामायतनम् ।नामरूपकर्मात्मकानि हि भूतानि हृदयाश्रयाणीत्यवोचाम शाकल्यब्राह्मणे हृदयप्रतिष्ठानि चेति ।तस्मात् हृदये ह्येव, सम्राट्, सर्वाणि भूतानि प्रतिष्ठितानि भवन्ति ।तस्मात् हृदयं स्थितिरित्युपासीत ; हृदये च प्रजापतिर्देवता ॥
In plain words
Vidagdha Śākalya once said it plainly: "The heart -- that is Brahman." And it is true, your majesty: the heart is where every being comes home to rest. Every creature is nothing but name, form, and action woven together, and all of that leans on the heart -- we said as much earlier, in the Śākalya section: beings depend on the heart, beings are grounded in the heart. That is why, your majesty, every single being finally stands on the heart and nowhere else. So meditate on the heart as your foundation. And know this too: in the heart, the presiding power is Prajāpati himself.
Close to the Sanskrit
Vidagdha Śākalya [said]: "The heart indeed is Brahman." The heart indeed, O emperor, is the abode of all beings. For beings, consisting of name, form, and action, depend on the heart -- we have said, in the Śākalya-brāhmaṇa, that they "depend on the heart" and are "grounded in the heart." Therefore, in the heart alone, O emperor, all beings become established. Therefore let one meditate on the heart as "foundation"; and in the heart, Prajāpati is the deity.
