अथ यद्येनमूष्मसूपालभेत प्रजापतिँशरण प्रपन्नोऽभूव स त्वा प्रति पेक्ष्यती-त्येन ब्रूयादथ यद्येनँ स्पर्शेषूपालभेतमृत्युँ शरण प्रपन्नोऽभूव स त्वा प्रतिधक्ष्यतीत्येन ब्रूयात् ॥ ४ ॥
In plain words
Now, if someone should criticize him regarding the sibilants, he should tell him: 'I have taken refuge in Prajāpati; he will deal with you.' And if someone should criticize him regarding the stop consonants, he should tell him: 'I have taken refuge in Death; he will consume you.'

Now if in sibilants one should criticize him, 'Prajāpati refuge approached I became, he thee back will regard,' thus to him one should speak; now if in stops one should criticize him, 'Death refuge approached I became, he thee back will burn,' thus to him one should speak.
