In plain words
If some illness should afflict him during this period of life, let him pray: 'O vital breaths, O Adityas, sustain this third pressing of my life! May my life-sacrifice not be cut short in the midst of the vital breaths and the Adityas.' Pulling himself up right from that illness and emerging safely, he indeed becomes free from disease.
Close to the Sanskrit
If in this age something should afflict him with heat, let him say: O vital breaths, O Adityas, extend along this third extraction of mine, my life! Lest my sacrifice among the vital breaths and the Adityas should be destroyed, pulling himself up right from that, having gone, he indeed becomes free of disease.
