एतद्ध स्म वै तद्विद्वानाह महिदासऐतरेयः स कि म एतदुपतपसि योऽहमनेन न प्रेष्यामीति स ह षोडश वर्षशत-मजीवत्प्र ह षोडश वर्षशत जीवति यएव वेद ॥ ७ ॥

Knowing this very truth, the sage Mahidasa Aitareya declared: 'Why do you afflict me with this fever, seeing that I shall not perish prematurely on account of this body?' And indeed, he lived for a full one hundred and sixteen years. So too does he live who knows this.

Concerning this indeed the knower Mahidasa Aitareya said: 'Why do you afflict this me with fever, seeing that I am one who shall not perish by this?' He indeed lived for one hundred and sixteen years. And so lives one who thus knows.
