In plain words
This same Brahman has four quarters. Within the inner self: speech is one quarter, breath the second, the eye the third, and the ear the fourth. Within the cosmic realm: fire is one quarter, wind the second, the sun the third, and the quarters of space the fourth. Thus both the inner and the outer dimensions of the four-quartered Brahman are taught.
Close to the Sanskrit
That same Brahman has four quarters: speech is a quarter, breath is a quarter, the eye is a quarter, the ear is a quarter—this is pertaining to the self. Now, pertaining to the cosmic deities: fire is a quarter, wind is a quarter, the sun is a quarter, the directions are a quarter. Both are thus taught, both that pertaining to the self and that pertaining to the deities.
