Verse 204

तं जायोवाच तप्तो ब्रह्मचारी कुशलमग्नीन्परिचचारीन्मा त्वाग्नयः परिप्रवोचन्प्रब्रूह्यस्मा इति तस्मै हाप्रोच्यैव प्रवासांचक्रे ॥ २ ॥

In plain words

His wife said to him, 'This student has worn himself out with austerities and tended the sacred fires with care. Do not let the fires reproach you; teach him.' But the teacher, without imparting the knowledge, set off on a journey.

Close to the Sanskrit

Him his wife addressed: 'The brahmacārin is exhausted by austerities; he has tended the fires well. Let not the fires reproach you; instruct him.' To him, however, without instructing him, he set out on a journey.
