Just as a fisherman might spot a fish in shallow water, death perceived them hiding there within the Ṛk, the Sāman, and the Yajus. But they, realizing this, rose entirely above the Ṛk, the Sāman, and the Yajus, and entered directly into the sound—the supreme syllable.
