स एवाधस्तात्स उपरिष्टात्स पश्चा-त्स पुरस्तात्स दक्षिणतः स उत्तरतः सएवेदं सर्वमित्यथातोऽहंकारादेश एवा-हमेवाधस्तादहमुपरिष्टादहं पश्चादहं पुर-स्तादहं दक्षिणतोऽहमुत्तरतोऽहमेवेदंसर्वमिति ॥ १ ॥

He is below, He is above, He is behind, He is before, He is to the south, He is to the north—He is all this alone. Now follows the instruction regarding the ego: I am below, I am above, I am behind, I am before, I am to the south, I am to the north—I indeed am all this.
