Verse 402

तस्मादप्यद्येहाददानमश्रद्दधानमयज-मानमाहुरासुरो बतेत्यसुराणां ह्येषोप-निषत्प्रेतस्य शरीरं भिक्षया वसनेनालं-कारेणेति संस्कुर्वन्त्येतेन ह्यमुं लोकंजेष्यन्तो मन्यन्ते ॥ ५ ॥

Therefore, even today, people say of someone who gives nothing, lacks faith, and performs no sacrifice: 'Alas, he is truly demonic!' For this is the secret teaching of the asuras. They adorn the body of the dead with alms, with garments, and with ornaments, believing that by this means they will conquer the other world.
