Bhashya
यश आद्यन्नाद्यपर्यन्त तत् व्यक्षरत् विशेषेणाक्षरत् अगमत् ।गत्वा च तदादित्यम् अभित पार्श्वत पूर्वभाग सवितु अश्र-यत् आश्रितवदित्यर्थ ।अमुष्मिन्नादित्ये सचित कर्मफलारय मधु भोक्ष्यामह इत्येव हि यशआदिलक्षणफलप्राप्तये कर्मा-णि क्रियन्ते मनुष्यै —केदारनिष्पादनमिव कषकै ।तत्प्र-त्यक्ष प्रदर्श्यते श्रद्धाहुतो ।तद्वा एतत्, किं तत् ? यदेतत् आदित्यस्य उदयतो दृश्यते रोहित रूपम् ॥
In plain words
Beginning with glory and ending with food, that essence flowed forth and reached the sun, taking shelter in its eastern quarter. Thinking, 'We shall enjoy this honey of ritual reward in the sun,' human beings perform sacrifices, much as farmers cultivate a field for a crop. That truth is made manifest: what is it? It is precisely the red form of the rising sun that we see.

Beginning with glory and ending with food-essence, that flowed forth, oozed specifically, went; and having gone, that approached the sun all around from the side, the eastern portion of the sun, sheltered—such is the meaning. In that sun, thinking 'We shall enjoy the accumulated honey called the fruit of action,' indeed rituals are performed by humans for attaining the fruit characterized by glory and others, like the production of a crop-field by farmers. That is clearly shown. That indeed is this—what is that? Which this red form of the rising sun is seen.
