कियन्त काल विद्वास्तदमृतमुपजीवतीति, उच्यते- स विद्वान् यावदादित्य पुरस्तात् प्राच्या दिशि उदेता पश्चात् प्रतीच्याम् अस्तमता, तावद्वसूना भोगकाल तावन्तमेव काल वसूनामाधिपत्य स्वाराज्य पर्येता परितो गन्ता भवतीत्यर्थ ।न यथा चन्द्रमण्डलस्थ केवलकर्मी परतन्त्रो देवानामन्नभूत , किं तर्हि, अयम आधिपत्य स्वाराज्य स्वराड्भाव च अधि गच्छति ॥

For how long does the wise seeker subsist on that nectar? The reply is given: As long as the sun rises in the eastern quarter and sets in the west, for that entire duration of the Vasus' enjoyment, that long does he attain the lordship and self-empire of the Vasus. He is not like the ordinary ritualist residing in the moon, who remains dependent and serves as food for the gods; rather, he attains true lordship, self-empire, and absolute sovereignty.

For how long does the wise one subsist upon that nectar? It is said: That wise one, as long as the sun shall rise in the east in the eastern direction and set in the west, for that long is the enjoyment period of the Vasus; for that very duration of time he becomes one who attains and goes all around the lordship and self-empire of the Vasus—this is the meaning. Not like the mere ritualist situated in the lunar orb, who is dependent and becomes food for the gods; rather, this one attains lordship, self-empire, and the state of a self-ruler.
