तद्वैतत् मधुज्ञान ब्रह्मा हिरण्यगर्भ विराजे प्रजापतयेउवाच, सोऽपि मनवे, मनुरिक्ष्वाकाद्याभ्य प्रजाभ्यप्रोवाचेति विद्या स्तौति-ब्रह्मादिविशिष्टक्रमागतेति ।किं च,तद्वैतत् मधुज्ञानम् उद्दालकाय आरुणये पिता ब्रह्मविज्ञानज्येष्ठाय पुत्राय प्रोवाच ॥
In plain words
This very honey-doctrine Brahma (Hiranyagarbha) imparted to Viraj Prajapati, who gave it to Manu, and Manu to mankind beginning with Ikshvaku. Thus the text praises the wisdom for its distinguished lineage descending from Brahma. Furthermore, this same honey-doctrine was imparted as the knowledge of Brahman by a father to his eldest son, Uddalaka Aruni.

That indeed, this honey-knowledge Brahma, Hiranyagarbha, spoke to Viraj Prajapati; and he to Manu; Manu spoke it to the subjects beginning with Ikshvaku, thus the text praises the knowledge as having come down in a distinguished sequence beginning with Brahma. And moreover, that indeed this honey-knowledge the father spoke as the knowledge of Brahman to Uddalaka Aruni, the eldest son.
