Bhashya
तस्मा उ ह ददुः ते हि भिक्षाम् ।ते वै ये ग्रस्यन्ते अग्न्यादयः यश्च तेषां ग्रसिता वायुः पञ्चान्ये वागादिभ्यः, तथा अन्ये तेभ्यः पञ्चाध्यात्मं वागादयः प्राणश्च, ते सर्वे दश भवन्ति संख्यया, दश सन्तः तत्कृतं भवति ते, चतुरङ्क एकायः एवं चत्वारस्त्र्यङ्कायः एवं त्रयोऽपरे द्व्यङ्कायः एवं द्वावन्यावेकाङ्कायः एवमेकोऽन्यः इत्येवं दश सन्तः तत्कृतं भवति ।यत एवम्, तस्मात् सर्वासु दिक्षु दशस्वप्यग्न्याद्या वागाद्याश्च दशसंख्यासामान्यादन्नमेव, 'दशाक्षरा विराट्' 'विराडन्नम्' इति हि श्रुतिः ।अतोऽन्नमेव, दशसंख्यत्वात् ।तत एव दश कृतं कृतेऽन्तर्भावात् चतुरङ्कायत्वेनेत्यवोचाम ।सैषा विराट् दशसंख्या सती अन्नं च अन्नादी अन्नादिनी च कृतत्वेन ।कृते हि दशसंख्या अन्तर्भूता, अतोऽन्नमन्नादिनी च सा ।तथा विद्वान्दशदेवतात्मभूतः सन् विराट्त्वेन दशसंख्यया अन्नं कृतसंख्यया अन्नादी च ।तया अन्नान्नादिन्या इदं सर्वं जगत् दशदिक्संस्थं दृष्टं कृतसंख्याभूतया उपलब्धम् ।एवंविदः अस्य सर्वं कृतसंख्याभूतस्य दशदिक्संबद्धं दृष्टम् उपलब्धं भवति ।किंच अन्नादश्च भवति, य एवं वेद यथोक्तदर्शी ।द्विरभ्यासः उपासनसमाप्त्यर्थः ॥
In plain words
Alms were given to him indeed. The consuming deities, the wind as their consumer, five external elements beginning with speech, and five internal ones including speech and breath—all together make ten. Because they amount to ten, everything in all ten directions associated with them is food, for scripture declares that Viraj of ten syllables is food. Thus, the knower who realizes this identity becomes both food and the consumer of food, perceiving the entire universe in its ten directions as his own unified reality.

To him indeed they gave alms. Those consuming deities and wind the consumer, and five others from speech, and similarly five others internal, speech and breath, all these become ten in number. Being ten, it becomes made by that... Therefore in all ten directions, agni and others and speech and others, due to the commonality of the number ten, are food indeed... Thus the knower, having become the self of the ten deities as viraj with the number ten, is food and consumer...
