Having gathered together, the sacred fires imparted knowledge of Brahman to the student. Then each began to teach its own domain. First, the Garhapatya fire instructed him: 'Earth, fire, food, and the sun—these are my four forms. The person seen in the sun, that am I; and who is the Garhapatya fire, he indeed is that person in the sun.'
