Bhashya
ताः प्रजाः यस्मिन्प्रविश्य पुनराविर्भवन्ति, ये तु इतोऽन्ये सत्सत्यात्माभिसंधाः यमणुभावं सदात्मानं प्रविश्य नावर्तन्ते, स य एषोऽणिमेत्यादि व्याख्यातम् ।यथा लोके स्वकीये गृहे सुप्तः उत्थाय ग्रामान्तरं गतः जानाति स्वगृहादागतोऽस्मीति, एवं सत आगतोऽस्मीति च जन्तूनां कस्माद्विज्ञानं न भवतीति भूय एव मा भगवान्विज्ञापयतु इत्युक्तः तथा सोम्येति ह उवाच पिता ॥
In plain words
Those creatures merge into that source and emerge once more; while those who attain that subtle reality whose very nature is existence never return to bondage. That subtle essence has already been explained. Just as a man sleeping in his own home wakes, travels away, and later knows he came from his home, why do creatures not realize they have come from the supreme Being? Explain this further to me, revered sir. Thus requested, the father replied: 'So be it, dear one.'
Close to the Sanskrit
Those creatures, having entered into which manifest again—and those others who, having entered the subtle state whose self is existence, do not return—that which is this subtle essence has been explained. Just as a person sleeping in his own house, having arisen and gone to another village, knows 'I have come from my own house,' similarly why is there no awareness among creatures that 'we have come from existence'? Please explain this further to me, revered sir. Thus addressed, the father spoke: 'So be it, dear one.'
