शृणु उपासनफलं विज्ञानवतः ।विज्ञानं येषु लोकेषु तान्विज्ञानवतो लोकान् ज्ञानवतश्च अभिसिध्यति अभिप्राप्नोति ।विज्ञानं शास्त्रार्थविषयं ज्ञानम् , अन्यविषयं नैपुण्यम् , तद्विद्व्युक्ताँल्लोकान्प्राप्नोतीत्यर्थः ।यावद्विज्ञानस्येत्यादि पूर्ववत् ॥

Listen to the result of meditating on understanding. Those worlds where understanding dwells—the worlds of the wise and knowledgeable—he fully attains. Understanding is knowledge of scriptural truth and proficiency in other fields; he reaches the worlds described by the knowers. The rest, beginning with 'As far as understanding,' is to be understood as explained before.

Listen to the fruit of meditation of one who has understanding. Understanding is in which worlds—those worlds of the one possessing understanding and knowledge he fully attains. Understanding is knowledge whose object is scriptural meaning, skill regarding other objects; he attains the worlds spoken of by the wise, such is the meaning. 'As far as understanding' and so forth is as before.
