In plain words

"You have understood this well: the shadow is not the Self," said Prajāpati. "That very Self which was introduced as our subject—I will explain it to you yet again. Even though a teaching given once becomes clear to those who are free of mental flaws, you did not grasp it; your capacity for understanding was clouded by some impediment. Therefore, to burn away that flaw, live as a student for another thirty-two years." Having said this, to Indra—who had lived through that time and whose impurities were spent—Prajāpati spoke.

Close to the Sanskrit

"Thus indeed this has been thoroughly understood by you, not the shadow is the Self," thus spoke Prajāpati. "That Self which was stated and is the topic, this very Self however I will explain to you further. Since though once explained it reached the state of being an object of certainty for those free from flaws, you did not grasp it, therefore you are one whose power of grasping is obstructed by some flaw. Therefore for the destruction of that, dwell another thirty-two years," having said thus, to him who had dwelt thus and whose flaws were destroyed, he indeed spoke.
