तमेवमुक्तवन्त ह प्रवाहणो जैवलिरुवाच अन्तवद्वै किलते शालावत्य सामेत्यादि पूर्ववत् ।तत शालावत्य आह-हन्ताहमेतद्भगवत्तो वेदानीति, विद्धीति होवाच इतर ॥

In plain words

To him who had spoken thus, Pravāhaṇa Jaivali said: 'Your Sāman is finite indeed, O Śālāvatsya' — and the rest proceeds as before. Then Śālāvatsya said: 'Ah, I wish to learn this very truth from Your Majesty.' 'Come, learn it,' replied the other.

To him who spoke thus Pravāhaṇa Jaivali said: Finite truly indeed, O Śālāvatsya, is your Sāman, and so forth as before. Then Śālāvatsya said: 'Well, I wish to know this from the venerable one.' 'Know it,' the other said.
