In plain words
He wipes clean the pain of those who own nothing. He is the vessel every age-old hymn was poured into. He is the elder son of Śiva, the foe of the triple citadel. He chews the pride of the gods' enemies to pulp. When this whole spread-out world goes under, he is the terror in it. Dhanañjaya and the great serpents are his jewellery. Ichor runs down his cheeks. I worship him — the ancient elephant.
