The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Hanumatpañcaratnam

Verse 5

वानरनिकराध्यक्षं दानवकुलकुमुदरविकरसदृक्षम् ।दीनजनावनदीक्षं पवनतपःपाकपुञ्जमद्राक्षम् ॥ ५ ॥

In plain words

The one who commands the whole monkey host. To the night-lotus of the demon clans, the sun's own rays. Sworn by a vow he has never set down to shelter anyone brought low. The Wind's long austerity, ripened and heaped into a single body — I saw him.

Close to the Sanskrit

Him who presides over the host of monkeys; him who is like the sun's rays to the night-lotus that is the demon clans; him whose consecrated vow is the protection of the afflicted; him who is the heaped ripening of the Wind's austerity — I saw.
