The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Haristutiḥ

Verse 8

In plain words

No measure reaches him. His waking is your own Self opening out. Nothing you could know as an object, and made of knowing itself — they find him in the heart, and know him as a bliss that only sheer being can hold, and as not other than what they are. Him, in whom the dark of saṃsāra ends — Hari — I praise.

Close to the Sanskrit

Him who is beyond measure, whose awakening is of the very nature of the unfolding of one's own Self, who is beyond the knowable, who is made of knowledge — having found him in the heart, and whom they know as bliss to be grasped by pure being, and as not-other — him, the destroyer of the darkness of saṃsāra, Hari, I praise.
