In plain words
The sun is one. In water it looks like many — a sun in every pool, some rippling, some perfectly still — and none of that motion belongs to it; its own nature is plainly there to be seen, going along with nothing. So it is among minds. They move, they differ, they are many and separate. And the one shining in all of them, whose nature is awareness that never lapses — that is what I am. I am the Self.
Close to the Sanskrit
Just as the sun, though one, is many in waters — in moving ones and in still ones too — its own nature being discerned as not going along with them; thus, in minds that move and are many and separate, that One, whose nature is eternal awareness, am I, the Self.
