In plain words
Half a glance from her can hand over the whole dazzling business of ruling the world, or Indra's throne in heaven. And it gladdens even Viṣṇu, who killed Mura and who has her always — gladdens him more than anything else does. Lakṣmī's eye is twin to the dark heart of the blue lotus. Let half of that glance rest on me, barely, for one moment.
Close to the Sanskrit
Competent to bestow the dazzling splendour of the station of the world and of Indra, lord of the immortals; a cause of bliss exceedingly even to the enemy of Mura — may half a glance of Indirā, sibling to the inner cup of the blue lotus, settle on me, if only slightly, for a moment.
