वीक्षणं यस्याः सा ।अनेन नाम्ना येषां जडानामपि कुरूपिणां जनानाम् उपरि सकृदीषद्वीक्षणमभिजायते, ते कन्दर्पवद्रूपयौवनसामर्थ्यलक्ष्मीभाजो भवन्तीति ध्वनितम् ।यद्वा कन्दर्पस्य जनकः श्रीनारायणः सः यस्याः अपाङ्गवीक्षणे ईषद्भृवल्लिचलने वर्तते, यस्याः आज्ञामात्रवश्यतया महाविष्णुः जगद्रक्षादिकार्यं करोतीति सा तथा इति ।अथवा, कन्दर्पजनका महालक्ष्मीः यस्याः अपाङ्गवीक्षणे प्रेर्यतया वर्तते सा तथा ।कन्दर्पस्य मन्मथस्य जनकाः उत्पादकाः स्रक्चन्दनादिभोग्यविषयाः ते यस्याः अपाङ्गवीक्षणात् भवन्ति सा तथा ।अथवा, चन्द्रस्य वामनेत्रतया अपाङ्गवीक्षणं चन्द्रिकोच्यते ।कन्दर्पजनकं अपाङ्गवीक्षणं यस्याः सा तथा ।कन्दर्पजनकाशब्देन लक्ष्मीनिवासकमलं लक्ष्यते, तद्वत् अपाङ्गं कमलाक्षीत्यर्थः तन्निरूपितवीक्षणं लोकसंजीवनं यस्याः सा तथा ॥ॐ कन्दर्पजनकापाङ्गवीक्षणायै नमः ॥कर्पूरवीटिसौरभ्यकल्लोलितककुप्तटा ।कर्पूरयुक्ताश्च ताः वीटयश्च ताम्बूलकबलानि तासां सौरभ्यं सौगन्ध्यं तैःकल्लोलितानि असकृत्परिमलितानि ककुभां दिशां तटानि प्रदेशाः यस्याः सा ।मुखवासितपरिमलेन जगन्मात्रं सुर-

Even a dull and misshapen soul, touched once by the slightest sidelong glance of her eye, blooms instantly with the splendor of youth, beauty, and radiant grace. She is the very pulse of the universe; at the faintest quiver of her brow, Lord Viṣṇu sustains the worlds. Her glance is the cool moonlight, the lotus-eyed life-giver of all existence, filling every quarter of space with the intoxicating fragrance of camphor and sweet betel. Salutation to that awakening, soul-restoring glance of the Divine Mother.

Her seeing is that; by this name, even upon dull and ugly persons when a single slight glance arises, they become partakers of beauty, youth, power, and fortune, thus it is implied. Or else, Nārāyaṇa who is the creator of Kandarpa is in her sidelong glance of slight eyebrow movement, under whose mere commandable obedience Mahāviṣṇu performs the work of universal protection, she is thus. Or alternatively, Mahālakṣmī who is the creator of Kandarpa exists as the instigating factor in her sidelong glance. The creators of Kandarpa, the enjoyments like garlands and sandal paste, come from her sidelong glance, she is thus. Or else, the sidelong glance of the moon as the left eye is called moonlight. Her sidelong glance which creates Kandarpa is thus. By the expression 'creator of Kandarpa', the lotus which is the dwelling place of Lakṣmī is indicated; her sidelong glance is like that lotus, meaning she is lotus-eyed, and her ascertained glance is life-giving to the world, she is thus. Salutation to that sidelong glance which creates Kandarpa. The borders of the quarters of the sky are made wavy by the fragrance of camphor betel rolls; that is, the camphor-infused betel rolls and their fragrance, by those fragrances the borders of the directions are constantly perfumed, she is whose...
