The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Mohamudgaraḥ

Verse 28

In plain words

For the pleasure of it, a woman is enjoyed; and afterwards — alas — disease in the body. Death is the last shelter of everyone in this world, and even so, no one lets go of doing wrong.

Close to the Sanskrit

For the sake of pleasure, the enjoyment of a woman is engaged in; afterwards — alas — disease in the body. Even though in this world death is the final refuge, even then one does not let go of the practice of wrongdoing.
