तस्मै स विद्वानुपसन्नाय सम्य- क्प्रशान्तचित्ताय शमान्विताय ।येनाक्षर पुरुष वेद सत्य प्रोवाच ता तत्त्वतो ब्रह्मविद्याम् ॥

To that student who has come to him with a peaceful mind and inner self-control, the illumined teacher truthfully imparts the knowledge of Brahman, revealing the true and imperishable Spirit.

To him who has approached, whose mind is thoroughly tranquil, and who is endowed with peace, that knowing teacher spoke truly that knowledge of Brahman by which one knows the imperishable, true Puruṣa.
