अपरे पुनरद्वितीयात्मदर्शिनः आत्मव्यतिरेकेण द्वितीयमपश्यन्तो मृत्युर्नास्तीति वर्णयन्ति हे राजन्; यथा एतत्पक्षयोरविरोधः संभवति, तथा ब्रुवतो मे मम वाक्यं शृणु मा विशङ्किष्ठाः मयोक्तेऽर्थे शङ्कां मा कृथाः ॥

Others, on the other hand, see the Self as having no second; looking anywhere apart from the Self, they find nothing there at all, and so they declare: there is no death. O king, hear now what I say, and hear it in the very way in which these two positions turn out not to conflict. Do not doubt me. About the meaning I have given you, entertain no misgiving.

Others, again, being seers of the Self as having no second, not seeing a second by way of exclusion of the Self, declare, 'There is no death,' O king; in the way in which non-contradiction of these two positions comes about, in that way hear the statement of me — of mine — as I speak; do not doubt: in the meaning stated by me, do not make doubt.
