आचार्ययोनिमिह ये प्रविश्य आचार्यसमीपं गत्वेत्यर्थः ।भूत्वा गर्भम् उपसदनादिना शिष्या भूत्वा ब्रह्मचर्यं गुरुशुश्रूषादिकं चरन्ति कुर्वन्ति, इहैव अस्मिन् लोके ते शास्त्रकारा भवन्ति; शास्त्रकर्तारः पण्डिताः; ततो बाल्यादिकं निर्विद्य ब्राह्मणा भूत्वा आरब्धकर्मक्षये विहाय देहं परमं यान्ति सत्यं सत्यादिलक्षणं परमात्मानं प्राप्नुवन्ति ॥

Entering the spiritual womb of a teacher here—approaching close to him—and taking on the inner state of disciplined studentship through humble service, they live the life of sacred restraint. In this very world they become wise knowers of truth. Then, growing detached from childish vanities and established as knowers of Brahman, when their active destiny wears out, they lay down the body and attain the supreme, true Self.
Close to the Sanskrit
Having entered the womb of the preceptor here—meaning having gone close to the teacher—and becoming students through approach and service, they practice celibacy and service to the guru. Right here in this world they become authorities on scripture, truly wise. Then, growing indifferent to childish qualities, becoming true knowers of Brahman, and upon the exhaustion of active karma, they lay down the body and attain the supreme truth, realizing the supreme Self characterized by truth and other attributes.
