देवा देवत्वमेतेन प्राप्नुवन् ।ऋषयोऽपीह ऋषित्वमेतेन प्राप्ताः ।सगन्धर्वाः गन्धर्वैः सह वर्तमानाः रूपमप्सरसोऽजयन् रूपाणि रमणीयानि एतेन ब्रह्मचर्येण अजयन् ।अह्नो दीप्तिसमूहः; अह्नाय जगतां द्योतनाय सूर्यश्च जायते ।उक्तं च—‘अहो दीप्तिश्च कथ्यते’ इति ॥

Through this very discipline, the gods attained their divine status, and the ancient seers secured their wisdom here on earth. Accompanied by the gandharvas, the celestial nymphs mastered enchanting forms through this self-restraint. The radiant cluster of daylight—and the sun itself—arises swiftly to illuminate all worlds. As it has been said: 'Radiance of the day is also spoken of.'

The gods attained godhood through this. Seers also here attained seer-hood through this. Together with gandharvas, the apsarases conquered form; they conquered delightful forms through this brahmacarya. The mass of radiance of the day; swiftly for illuminating the worlds, the sun also is born. And it is said: 'Radiance of the day is also spoken of,' thus.
