मस्मि’ इति साक्षाज्जानाति, तस्य प्रज्ञानरूपं परमात्मानम् आत्मत्वेनावगच्छतः इह अस्मिन्नेव देहे आत्मा न रिष्यते न विनश्यति, विदुष उत्क्रान्तेरभावात्, उत्क्रान्तिनिमित्तत्वाद्विनाशस्य ।तथा च श्रुतिः प्रज्ञापूर्वकक्रमणाभावं दर्शयति—‘उत्क्रामन्त्यस्मात्प्राणाः आहो नेति नेति होवाच याज्ञवल्क्योऽत्रैव समवनीयन्ते’ ‘न तस्य प्राणा उत्क्रामन्ति ब्रह्मैव सन् ब्रह्माप्येति य एवं वेद’ इति च ।यं विदित्वा न रिष्यते, तं योगिन एव पश्यन्ति ॥

In plain words

Knowing intimately 'I am this,' the sage who realizes the Supreme Self of pure awareness as his own true identity is never harmed nor destroyed within this very body, for the enlightened do not undergo a subtle departure... That Self, knowing whom one never perishes, is beheld by yogis alone.

Close to the Sanskrit

Knowing directly 'I am', for him who understands the Supreme Self of consciousness nature as his own self, the self is neither harmed nor destroyed in this very body... Whom having known one is not harmed, that yogis alone perceive.
