। ॥ ३०२ ॥
In plain words
Ignorance cannot be called real, and it cannot be called unreal — neither word will hold it. It is woven of the three guṇas. One thing alone cancels it: waking up to what the Real actually is. And this is its defining mark — that it is there, a positive presence.
Close to the Sanskrit
Ignorance, indefinable in terms of the real and the unreal, constituted of the three guṇas, cancellable by the awakening to the truth of the Real alone, has that positive existence as its defining mark.
