In plain words

In sleep a body appears, and you take it for your very Self. You do exactly that with the non-Self — and then you load the Self with everything that belongs to it: birth, death, hunger, fear, thirst, exhaustion, and all the rest.

Close to the Sanskrit

Just as, in the body appearing in sleep, there is this notion of its being one's own Self, so indeed is it with regard to the non-Self; and he superimposes upon the Self the attributes of that — birth, death, hunger, fear, thirst, fatigue and the rest.
