In plain words

Wealth swells arrogance. Arrogance wipes out memory. Memory gone, the discerning intellect goes with it — and once that is gone, the man himself is finished.

Close to the Sanskrit

By wealth there would be an increase of arrogance; by arrogance, the destruction of memory. From the destruction of memory, destruction of the intellect; from the destruction of the intellect, he perishes utterly.
