Know the Deva, and every fetter falls away. Let the afflictions burn out, and birth and death are finished. That is exactly what the Vedic word says — when the afflictions are cut down, birth and death are over.

Having known the Deva, there is the falling away of all bonds; with the afflictions exhausted, there is the complete cessation of birth and death — thus indeed does this Vedic word speak, declaring, upon the destruction of the afflictions, the complete cessation of birth and death.
