In plain words
Wise seekers never remain even a single moment detached from direct awareness of the Self. For the wise, any lapse in this inner awareness is true spiritual death—not the physical death brought by Yama.
Close to the Sanskrit
Having abandoned direct experience of the Self, the wise do not remain even for a moment; whatever carelessness occurs regarding direct experience of the Self, that is death, not Yama, for the virtuous.
