। ॥ ९८ ॥
In plain words
When, Mother — tell me — when do I get to drink it: the water that washed your feet, still red with the lac dye from them? I am asking as a student, wanting knowledge. That water is what makes poetry come out of people born mute. So when does it become the red betel juice in the lotus mouth of Sarasvatī?
Close to the Sanskrit
At what time, O Mother — tell me — may I, a seeker of knowledge, drink the water of the washing of your feet, that water having taken on the juice of red lac? And when does it, through being the cause of poetry even in those mute by nature, assume the state of being the betel-juice of the lotus-mouth of Vāṇī?
