Verse 5

In plain words

You come down as the Fish and all that followed, descent after descent, guarding the earth without pause. Supreme Lord, I am terrified by the burning of this world of birth and death — I am the one you must protect.

Close to the Sanskrit

By you, who possess descents through the incarnations beginning with the Fish, who always protect the earth — O Supreme Lord, I, terrified by the burning of worldly existence, am to be protected.
