The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Śrīrāmabhujaṅgaprayātastotram

Verse 23

In plain words

What need have we of any deity who is not with Sītā, does not bear the Kodaṇḍa, is not adored by Lakṣmaṇa, does not blaze with heroic power, is not the doom of Rāvaṇa, is not Sugrīva's friend, and is not known by the name Rāma?

Close to the Sanskrit

For us, enough of deities who are not accompanied by Sītā, not adorned by the Kodaṇḍa bow, not revered by Lakṣmaṇa, not possessed of fierce valour, not the death of Laṅkā's lord, not friends of Sugrīva, and not called Rāma.
