In plain words
This body — the sheath called annamaya, the one assembled out of food — is not the Self. It is insentient, no more aware than a clay pot. And its absence can be seen: before it came into being, it was not there; after it goes, it is not there.
Close to the Sanskrit
This body, the sheath named 'made of food,' is not the Self — insentient, like a pot — because its non-existence also is seen before its origination and afterwards.
